What Your Donation Actually Supports

We believe transparency is part of trust. If you are considering supporting Sondhar, you deserve to know exactly where your contribution goes.

This is our honest attempt to explain that.

The Children Come First

Every donation to Sondhar first supports the children who live and learn here. About 50 children currently receive free boarding, meals, education support, healthcare, and daily care from the Trust. This is the core of everything we do.

Where Donations Go

Daily Meals Three meals a day for 50 children. Nutritious, home-cooked, with care for dietary needs. This is one of the most significant and consistent costs the Trust carries.

Education Support School fees, books, notebooks, stationery, uniforms, and tutoring materials. Most children attend government schools — our role is to ensure they arrive prepared and supported.

Boarding and Daily Care Bedding, clothing, hygiene supplies, cleaning, maintenance, and the daily cost of running a residential home for children.

Healthcare Regular health checkups, medications, emergency care, dental visits, and counselling support where needed. We try to address health needs early, before they become crises.

Infrastructure The physical home — classrooms, dormitories, bathrooms, kitchen, study areas, and outdoor spaces. We are working steadily to improve these, room by room.

Agriculture Revival A portion of donations supports our agriculture work — clearing fields, purchasing seeds, tools, and materials for the kitchen garden and terraced plots.

Operations A small portion covers communications, reporting, accounting, and the administrative costs that allow the Trust to function and remain accountable.

What We Do Not Spend On

We do not spend on unnecessary overheads. There are no large salaries, no marketing budgets, and no outsourced work that could be done simply and honestly within the community.

How to Give

You can donate through our website. We currently accept contributions via bank transfer and UPI. When you click to donate, we will share our account details and confirm how your contribution will be used.

Every donation, regardless of size, is acknowledged personally.

Tax and Compliance

Sondhar Charitable Trust is working toward full 80G and 12A compliance. Donation receipts and required certificates will be provided as applicable regulations permit. Registration details will be updated on the website as they are confirmed.

A Final Note

We are a small team doing this work with care and with limited resources. Your support does not go into a system — it goes directly into the lives of children who have very little, and who deserve a great deal.
